Welcome to the website of Rally Preparation Services – the only rally-workshop in Britain devoted to long-distance rallying, where no job is too big…or too small. Recentley featured in Classic Car Magazine, Octane and Classic & Sportscar detailing some of what we can do.

Founded by Simon Ayris, (who also competes) the workshop recently moved to larger premises on the north side of Witney at Wharton Buildings, on the Downs road. In years gone by these premises were well known for all sorts of engineering accomplishments. The operation is now staffed by a team of five: Simon Ayris, Bill Hitchcock, Andy Inskip, who has attended over 100 major events providing mechanical back up, Christian Hickford, who joined us from the 4x4 specialist, Frog’s Island, and finally Philip Brown. Philip has recentley joined us after time spent at the pinnacle of motorsport - the World Rally Championship and Formula 1. Being familiar with the demands of rally cars on events outside of the UK Philip is looking forward to adding this to his passion for Classic & Vintage cars.

Most of us have been appointed as Official Mechanical Rescue units on the Peking to Paris so will be away for the 38 days of the event from September 8th. Our other forthcoming preparation work includes projects for next January’s London to Cape Town marathon, including a Suzuki Jimny, and a un-proven BMW X5 with no prior rally preparation work done.

The 2010 LeJog see's us handling three cars in the workshop now, a Datsun 240Z and two Volvo Amazons.

Then we have the 100th- annvisary Monte Carlo  Historique preparations, we have currently a Ford Escort and a three-litre Mercedes saloon in the workshop, and recent work by the team here has also involved helping two youngsters prepare their charity-supporting mount survive the Mongol Rally in a diminutive  little Perouda kelisa.
